From the Winery:
Garnacha Tintorera and Monastrell grapes come from vineyards situated in Almansa, between 700 and 1000 meters of altitude, planted in sandy soils with a high lime concentration in the base.
The grapes are separately fermented in stainless steel tanks and then they stay 4 months in French oak barrels.
Bodegas Atalaya was founded in 2007 by the Gil Family of Jumilla. The prominent grape variety in Almansa is Garnacha Tintorera, Alicante Bouschet- along with Monastrell.
Garnacha Tintorera is known for its deep color and here it coats the glass and imparts aromas of brooding black fruits, licorice, expresso and pepper. Dense, savory and rich.
